01. What Are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. In modern single-page applications like Reverie AI, we also utilize HTML5 LocalStorage and SessionStorage to maintain your workspace state across browser refreshes and tab navigations.
These technologies allow the application to remember your active conversation, keep you authenticated securely, restore your selected theme (dark/light mode), and ensure high streaming responsiveness.
02. Categories of Storage We Use
These items are required for Reverie AI to function. They store Supabase Auth session tokens, verify API authorization headers, maintain stream resumption identifiers, and protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). Disabling these prevents the chat application from operating.
These enable personalized app behavior, such as remembering whether you prefer Dark Mode or Light Mode, your sidebar collapse state, and guest session message drafts before authentication.
Client-side caching allows rapid rendering of thread lists and avoids redundant network fetches to the backend server.
